My Permanent Brow Procedure

Now some of you may not be old enough to remember the crazy 90’s brow trend of plucking them to within an inch of their lives, unfortunately I was a victim of that trend! My brows are very thin and shapeless and we all know this is NOT a good look! So I wanted to share with you my brow journey and how I came to the decision to have them tattooed.

90s brows

Where it all began

As I have mentioned before, a few years ago I worked for Benefit Cometic’s, a company renowned for their brow products and the famous Benefit brow arch! As you can imagine they were far from impressed with my 90’s brows so, on one of my first days they drew my brows on. All I can say is I felt like I looked RIDICULOUS! They were huge, dark and 3 times the thickness of my own brows! I hated every second of wearing them but it was my job so I put up with it and carried on drawing them on every day. This is where my brow obsession started! I grew to love my brows and would not leave the house with out them! In fact I felt naked without them!

About 3years ago, a girl I know started promoting that she was trained in permanent makeup. I followed her journey and the more I saw the more I knew I NEEDED my brows tattooing! There was just 1 thing stopping me…the price!

Christmas 2017 came around and my AMAZING boyfriend had got my mum to find out exactly what brow procedure I wanted (I just though she wanted hers done when she started asking my 100 questions about what I wanted and who I wanted to do them!) But he got me a voucher for Enhance Cosmetic Clinic to have the airbrush brows! As you can imagine I was incredibly excited and wanted them done there and then!

February 2018

I had to wait until February to see Polly for a brow consultation where we discussed the shape and style that I wanted to go for. Polly is the brow queen so was super booked up and my actual appointment had to wait until April 4th.

The Procedure

Arriving at the clinic I was super excited for my new brows! The lovely Amber prepped me with some numbing cream and then I went through to see Polly. We drew the shape on and colour matched my brows (I’m not naturally blonde so we went for a chocolate brown). Polly then began the procedure. It was mildly uncomfortable at times but nothing unbearable and Polly made sure at all times that I was comfortable.

Once finished I got to check out my new AMAZING brows and I can’t tell you how impressed I was! Perfection! Polly briefed me on how to look after them and I then had to book to go back in 4 weeks time to have the required top up (all included in the price).

A week and a half on and I still love them! I wake up every day with ‘brows on fleek!’ Now the healing process, they do scab and there are times where the itching has been a little crazy but they are totally worth it! The colour has faded a little but I have been reassured this is normal and the colour will start to come back in the next week or so and the 4 week top up will boost it back to where it should be! Here’s a link to Enhance Cosmetic Clinic – they are fantastic and offer a range of services.

My boyfriend is a videographer and filmed the whole process so I could share it all with you.

Have you had your brows tattooed? Or are you thinking about it? Please share your experience or ask any questions you have!

wow! Your bf is an excellent videographer. So great to be able to watch you have it done. I too am of the 90s over pluck generation and I keep toying with the idea of having this or microblading done. I don’t really know what the difference between the two are even. I’m just scared that it will go wrong. Yours look brilliant! Anna xx (one half of the Cinnamon Buns and Roses blog)

Wow hun they look amazing!! I keep considering this cos I’m of the 90’s over pluck generation too, and my attempt at growing them back has left them so gappy I can’t not draw them on :/ but I’m always worried it’ll hurt too much I’m such a wuss!! hahaaa but if theyr’re just a little uncomfortable I might be able to deal! hahaa xxx

It’s not something that I’ve ever considered before, but I do spend a hell of a lot of time in the morning doing my brows so I would have so much free time with this.. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I may have to look into it, sounds like a really interesting procedure!

I really can’t recommend it enough! I’m waiting for my top up at the moment but am absolutely loving not having to do my brows every day! Let me know if you decide to go for it x
