My New House: The Look Book

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you may have seen that I have some big news to share with you all…Me and my boyfriend have just bought our first house! VERY exciting! As you can imagine I’m in full house mode now getting everything sorted! We will be moving in the next 2-3 weeks into our brand new house. I’m super impatient and I NEED to have all new stuff when I move so I thought I’d share with you some of the things that we have already bought and somethings that are in the pipeline! Luckily we have very similar tastes when it comes to furniture and accessories and already have a colour scheme in mind (copper plays a BIG part through out!)

Kitchenware

We have a neutral kitchen with off white, high gloss cupboards and a cream marble effect work top. We decided to go for black and copper accessories and found the PERFECT kettle, toaster and canisters form Next. The copper is beautiful as its not too ‘pink’ which I find can cheapen the look of it. The price wasn’t too bad, I had found a ‘branded’ set very similar which would have cost us A LOT more, but think this set looks just as nice. The kettle was £38, the toaster £45 and the matching canisters £16. Unfortunately we have to wait 10 weeks for the canisters to be delivered which is annoying but they will be worth the wait as they are all matching!

Lighting

Grey and copper plays a HUGE part throughout the house! Our kitchen and lounge is open plan so we wanted to incorporate the copper from the kitchen in to the lounge with small accents. We found this amazing lamp from Next which is exactly what we were looking for! It cost £90 so not the cheapest but still not too bad as lighting seems to be very expensive! We also found these lampshades from made.com which have a copper lining so brings the lamp and shade together perfectly. We are going to have these in the lounge and the bedroom as we LOVE them and want to keep a theme throughout the house. These cost £29 each, I did have a search around for a cheaper version but couldn’t find one that looks as nice as this.

Dressing Table

I have always wanted mirrored furniture but it’s very expensive. Our bedroom is a fair bit smaller than my current bedroom so we have had to down scale furniture a lot! This means there is a small area where I can set up a dressing table (essential) but trying to find one to the right dimensions has been a difficult task! However, I came across this beautiful mirrored table that fits the space like a dream! It’s a little on the pricey side but I’ve just sold my current dressing table which will fund part of this one (clever hey!). It also come with a beautiful stool with a black padded seat which is perfect as I have a black velvet bed! I’m very excited for this piece and am looking to get a mirror with lights around it to finish it off perfectly!

Wall Prints

I’m a big fan of wall prints and feature walls with lots of prints on them. I recently discovered desenio.co.uk which sells an amazing range of prints and has some great inspiration guides for anyone looking to create feature walls. We will definitely be creating a feature wall in our downstairs toilet and will also have some prints running through out the house. I will be looking more at Desenio for ideas and to purchase some gorgeous designs! You should check out their instagram as their feed is full of ideas and beautiful pictures!

I will be doing more house related blog posts in the coming weeks. If there is anything you would like to see me feature I would love to hear from you your ideas! Also if you have a go to shop for house items please share!
