So as some of you may already know, I am getting married on 21st April 2019! You can read all about the engagement in my Turning 30 blog post. As you can imagine I’m crazy excited and planning is in full swing. I’m fairly laid back and have yet to have any bridezilla moments, but I’m sure they will happen closer to the time! I’m not going to give it all away, but I wanted to share with you a few of the things we have already book/decided on, I have had a theme in my head for sometime and those of you that know me will not be surprised by them!
Our Wedding Theme
Picking our theme was one of the easiest and quickest decisions, I already had an idea of the things I wanted so it was just a matter of piecing things together. I’m a little obsessed with rose gold, so it only made sense that we themed our wedding on it! I wanted to go for a really elegant and romantic setting as well as bringing in my style. There will be hints of rose gold throughout our finishing touches to add a bit of ‘me’ to the decor! There’s also a strong floral theme throughout. I knew from the start that I wanted a flower wall, it will make the perfect backdrop to the area we are holding our ceremony and then the feature piece for our guests to have some incredible photos in front of! There’s a Norwich based company called Prestige Events that hire out the most beautiful flower walls and blossom trees which are going to look absolutely beautiful in our venue!
Choosing the perfect makeup artist was super important to me. I wear a full face of makeup everyday and I like to think that I’m not too bad at applying it! Having taken a few makeup courses and working with makeup for a period of time I knew I couldn’t just settle for anyone. Emily at Love Moi Makeup was always my first choice, she is absolutely incredible, highly sought after and the only person I knew I could fully trust to do my bridal makeup. There was only one problem…Emily has a very full diary and a tiny baby so I wasn’t even sure if I would get in! We have very little time to get things sorted in comparison to most people! But when she said she was available it MADE MY DAY! She’s booked and I’m super excited for her to make up me, my mum and my bridesmaids! Check out her Instagram and give her some love!
It’s the end of the main wedding show season (most run around April/May time) so we missed the start of this year and we will be married by the time the next lot start! However, after searching round I managed to find 2 events this month that I attended with my husband to be and my mum. The first one being just around the corner from where I live so it was ideal…It was incredibly small but we found our photographer and a potential florist so it wasn’t a complete waste of time and we also got to eat cake and enjoy the chocolate fountain! The next event was bigger, there were more exhibitors and we made a few more contacts who I am talking to at the moment to get some details finalised.
If you’re going to an event, go with a plan in mind, EVERYONE is there to sell them selves. They will talk to you, ask you a million questions and can distract you from what you are actually there for. I had a good idea of what I wanted to get out of going so managed to avoid unnecessary chats so I could get out of it what I needed to!
Do you have any tips you can share with me or anyone else that’s reading this who is or will be planning their wedding? I would love to hear your stories of where your planning began!
