2018 Roundup

2018…what a year! When the clock struck 12 at the end of 2017 I burst into tears and was glad to see the back of the year! I turned to Shah (my partner) and said “this is going to be our year, I have a good feeling!” and boy I couldn’t have got it more right! It was a total world-wind, I have kept you guys up to date along the way but here is around up of my 2018 including; favourite beauty products, big life events and things I have learnt along the way! Grab a cuppa it’s been a BIG one!

My Top 5 Beauty & Skincare Products

There are so many products that I could list here, but I have narrowed it down to the 5 that have impressed me the most.

Urban Decay Eden Eyeshadow Primer – I use this everyday and would never apply any kind of eye product without this under it! Featured in my makeup must haves post and one that will stay put in my makeup bag – if you haven’t tried this it’s a must!

Makeup Revolution Re-Loaded Velvet Rose Eyeshadow Palette – featured in my Autumn Beauty Must Haves blog post, this is one I go to daily! I have a huge palette collection but this one comes out the most!

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – recommended by Rambling of a Blonde and featured in my Spring Makeup Obsessions post, this is now on my ride or die list and will be a staple in my 2019 makeup routine!

Olay Instant Hydration Anti-Wrinkle Cream – I turned 30 in 2018 and feel that this was THE ultimate time to start with the whole anti-ageing routine! Featured in my Basic Skincare post, I can not be with out this moisturiser!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – another product featured in my Basic Skincare blog post and another that is part of my daily crew! This makes a huge difference to my skin and it doesn’t break the bank!

Big Life Events

We bought our first house – The biggest achievement of the year was when we bought our first house! I absolutely love our home and still cant believe it is all ours! You can see our home theme in my My New House The Look Book post.

We got engaged – Our engagement wasn’t the ‘norm’ but it was perfect. We had our Islamic ceremony with our closest friends and family and it was very special! My engagement ring is incredible – it’s Shah’s mums original engagement ring, it’s so perfect!

Celebrated my 30th birthday in Disneyland – It was a total surprise but Shah took me to Disneyland Paris for my 30th birthday and WOW what a day! You can read all about it in my Surprise 30th post.

Booked our wedding – In September we set a date for our wedding! We found the perfect venue that bought together the old style venue that I wanted and the moderne style venue that Shah wanted! I will be writing more about our wedding plans in future posts but you can read part 1 here. 21st April 2019 is the date and I cant wait!

5 Things I learnt in 2018

Appreciate the good things – This is something that Shah has taught me to do way more. Don’t take the good things in your life for granted and appreciate them way more. Not everyone is as lucky as what some of us are and I realise that so much more now. I’m happy, healthy, have an amazing family and an even more amazing man….life is good!

Stay positive – This has been a hard one and one that I will need to work on forever as I do find it so easy to look at the negatives. But it makes such a difference when you look on the positive side, it makes you more proactive and you will get better end results from it!

Be patient – Okay so this one is a big one for me! If I want something I HAVE to have it right this second! I’m not saying I have fully conquered this one but I have got way better at waiting things out and it is a good feeling!

To handle my overthinking better – I wrote a post on this as its something that I really struggle with, you can read about it here. I get so frustrated with myself at times but in general I have got way better with thinking more rationally and it has lead to less anxiety moments and an all round better feeling!

How was your 2018? I’d love to hear what products you were loving, what happened in your life and what you learnt! Oh and … HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
