Makeup Revolution – New In

Okay so it’s no secret that I’m totally obsessed with Makeup Revolution, most of the beauty themed posts I write include at least one MUR product! For Christmas Shah bought me some of Makeup Revolution’s new products which I have been using daily and wanted to give you guys the low down on what I got and what my thoughts are on them.

Revolution Jewel Collection Eyeshadow Palette Opulent

I had my eye on this palette from the moment MUR posted it on their Instagram grid, I screenshot it but knew I didn’t really need it (I did but you have to try curb a habit sometimes!). I never mentioned it to Shah but my man knows me and chose this for me.

First impressions – The colours are amazing! There’s 6 larger glitter/shimmer shades, 8 smaller shimmer shades and 6 matte finish shades. There’s a range of pink, gold, brown and grey tones which all go together perfectly. The shimmer shades do outway the matte ones which is perfect for me as I do prefer them but may be more of an ‘evening look’ palette for a lot of people.

Quality – Another high quality palette at a really affordable price. Each shade is well pigmented, some of the lighter shades do need to be built up but all in all they apply really well. The only down side I can point out is that the 6 larger glitter/shimmer powders are fairly crumbly, so you have to be really careful when using a brush that it doesn’t crush it too much. This inevitability results in fallout, not a huge problem if you apply eyeshadow first but I know most people do their eyes last! I find the shadows blend out really well and last really well on the eye. (I always use the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – Eden as a base).

Rating – I would give this a solid 8 out of 10! There are other pallets in this range and I may just have to check them out. This is now up there with one of my favourite palettes out of my huge collection!

Revolution Jewel Collection Jelly Highlighter Prestigious

I didn’t even know there was such thing as a jelly highlighter until I opened this up on Christmas Day! The packaging was the first thing that impressed me as it’s rose gold! I’m not gonna lie is was really worried about trying this one out as it’s totally different to any other product I have tried before!

First Impressions – This takes a bit of time to get used to if you’re not used to working with liquid highlighters! The pigment is incredible, its so good that you really do only need a little product to get a really popping highlight! Once you have nailed the application you will love it, the glow that it gives is just amazing. I dab a small amount over my check bones with my finger and then I grab a dense brush to bounce the product into my skin (I apply after powder so bouncing really helps move the product and not your powder), once it’s blended I lightly brush my powder brush over to soften and blend. I then apply blush to finish the look!

Quality – As it’s the first product of this kind I have tried, I have nothing to compare it to but overall I think this is well worth the money. This product is going to last FOREVR as it goes so far! The pigment is incredible and once you have mastered it I think you will love it! I reach for this over a powder highlight most days and think I may have to go out and get the gold version!

Rating – This one will get 7/10 as it does take a little time to get used to. Don’t let it put you off though because trust me it really is so pretty and so glowy!

Revolution Glow Revolution Eternal Gold

This is a dupe of the Iconic London Prep-Set-Glow spray and when I saw MUR had released this I wanted to try it immediately! This is the one product I had on my Christmas list and I’m so happy I got it! This comes in 2 colours, this lighter gold and a bronze version which I know would be too dark for my complexion.

First Impressions – The first thing you have to do with this spray is give it a really good shake, this is where all the magic happens! The liquid goes from a milky white colour to the most amazing gold shimmer! If you love to glow this is the product for you! Once you have completed your makeup spritz this all over your face and you will have the most amazing glowy complexion! Now I may have gone overboard a couple of times and my fiancé asked why I looked so sweaty!! But I’m obsessed already! This is just a weekend/evening product for me as it’s too much for work. Be carful where you are and what you are wearing while using this as the shimmer goes EVERYWHERE! I’d advise you use your bathroom and don’t have a top on!

Quality – I have nothing to compare this with but all in all it does exactly what I want it to do. It has amazing staying power! I went out last week and used this on my face and body and when I got home I was still glowing all over! What more could you ask for!

Rating – I’m going to give this 8/10. It has great staying power, sets my makeup perfectly and gives me the glow of all glows! It loses a couple of points as it is a little messy!

I’m loving Makeup Revolution more than ever at the moment and have only come across a couple of products that I don’t rate. What products from MUR are you loving right now? How do they compare to similar products from other brands?

I’m really intrigued by the jelly highlighter but I’ve never got on with liquid highlighters in the past so I don’t know if I’d be able to make it work for me. That glowy spray sounds like it would be a great product for the summer months, I really want to pick it up and give it a go but if I do I’ll try to remember what you said about it getting messy! Thanks for sharing lovely
